The UW-Oshkosh men's track & field team, ranked third in the nation by the
U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, competed in five final qualifying meets over the last week at the University of St. Francis (Ill.), at UW-La Crosse twice, St. Norbert College, and Augustana College (Ill.).

During the St. Francis Fighting Chance Invitational on Friday (May 9),
Ryan Potter (Oak Creek/Oak Creek) finished eighth in his heat of the 800-meter run, finishing in 2:01.35.
Â
UW-Oshkosh sent multiple athletes to La Crosse for the Eagles' Uncaged Eagle Open on Friday as well.

Davian Willems (De Pere/West De Pere) took second in the 100-meter dash in 10.37 seconds, followed by
Eddie Jones (Waukesha/Catholic Memorial) in sixth at 10.60 seconds.

In the 200-meter dash,
Nolan Milas (Virgil, Ill./Burlington Central) ran a 21.38 for fourth place.
Â
The Titans claimed three top-eight positions in the 400-meter dash.
Tyran Bender (Bourbonnais, Ill./Bradley-Bourbonnais Community) took third (46.99),
Charlie Nolan (Normal, Ill./Normal Community West) took fifth (48.54), and Trey Janssen finished eighth (49.29).

Nolan also ran in the 110-meter hurdles and took third in 14.54 seconds.
Weston Lerdal (Neenah/Neenah) competed in the longer 400-meter hurdles. He ran a 55.93 for eighth place.

Matthew Eiden (Stevens Point/SPASH),
Joshua Rivers (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook), Lerdal, and
Daniel Wilson (Sun Prairie/Sun Prairie West) combined for a 3:11.55 finish in the 4x400-meter relay, taking third place.

Caleb Cornelius (Racine/Racine Park) led the Titans' three top-eight placers in the high jump with a best height of 2.02 meters.
Christian Thompson (Milwaukee/Ronald Reagan) cleared 1.97 meters for third and
Kyle Wisniewski (New London/New London) took sixth at 1.92 meters.

Zach Zirgibel (Merton/Arrowhead Union) placed eighth in the pole vault with a mark of 4.79 meters.

In the long jump, Rivers claimed the top distance with a 7.84-meter jump.
Caleb Wright (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) finished third at 7.30 meters and
Cavan Dobberstein (Manawa/Fox Valley Lutheran) took seventh at 7.04 meters.
Max Milbrath (Pecatonica, Ill./Pecatonica) skipped 14.49 meters in the triple jump for fifth place.

Over to the throws,
Isaiah Isom (Lansing, Ill./Thornton Fractional South) threw 16.87 meters in the shot put for third and 48.90 meters in the discus throw for eighth.
Gavin Fritsch (Little Chute/Little Chute) marked off a 51.01-meter cast in the discus and took fifth.

Gavin Fritsch (Little Chute/Little Chute) also had the best distance in the hammer throw for Oshkosh with a fifth-place throw of 59.84 meters.
Bryce Hale (Kimberly/Kimberly) claimed third at 59.61 meters and
Kieran Maude (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) took sixth at 54.90 meters.

At the St. Norbert College Last Chance Meet on Monday (May 12), UW-Oshkosh mostly competed in field events, adding a first-place time of 51.87 seconds in the 400-meter dash by
Jett Breed (Oswego, Ill./Oswego).

Thompson competed in the high jump again, this time taking first with a jump of 1.97 meters.
Â
Zirgibel returned to the pole vault and took second place by vaulting 4.80 meters.
Ethan Stukenberg (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) cleared the bar at 4.35 meters to take fifth place.

In the horizontal jumps, Dobberstein won the long jump at 7.13 meters and Milbrath finished with a best distance of 13.71 meters for first place.

Isom won the discus throw in De Pere, marking off a best throw of 43.34 meters.
Â
Gavin Fritsch (Little Chute/Little Chute) then took the top position in the hammer throw best a mark of 60.48 meters. Hale and Maude followed in second and third at 60.33 and 53.75 meters respectively.

Four Titans took top-five spots in the shot put, led by Isom's second-place throw of 15.28 meters. Maude threw 15.10 meters for third,
Jacob Fritsch (Little Chute/Little Chute) threw 14.76 meters for fourth, and
Cameron Bendixen (DeForest/DeForest) threw 14.42 meters for fifth.

During the Augustana College Midwest Twilight Qualifier on Wednesday (May 14), Eiden, Rivers, Wilson, and Bender finished the 4x400-meter relay in 3:10.56 to finish second in the event.

UW-Oshkosh's final final qualifier was La Crosse's Final Qualifier on Wednesday.

Jones ran in the 100-meter dash again and took fourth in the final round at 10.71 seconds.
Carter Amerson (Wausau/Wausau West) took eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.30 seconds. Lerdal and Janssen both ran in the 400-meter dash, taking first and fourth in 48.97 and 49.59 seconds respectively while
Aden Sears (Eureka, Ill./Eureka) took second in the 110-meter hurdles at 14.27 seconds.

Thompson was in the high jump lineup for the final time of final qualifier week and jumped 1.94 meters for fifth place. Zirgibel finished his busy week of pole vaulting with a second place mark of 4.94 meters. In the triple jump, Milbrath put up a best skip of 14.34 meters for third place.

In the shot put, Isom threw 16.37 meters for third and Maude threw 15.84 meters for seventh.
Â
Maude also took eighth in the discus throw at 45.12 meters and fifth in the hammer throw at 56.07 meters.
Â
Gavin Fritsch (Little Chute/Little Chute) and Hale joined Maude in the hammer throw with second and third place throws of 61.16 and 59.36 meters respectively.
