GENEVA, Ohio- For the second consecutive NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship and the fourth straight national meet overall,
Joshua Rivers (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) out jumped the 22-man field for the long jump national title in the first day of the national meet on Thursday (May 22).

The Titans sit in first place after the first day of competition with 24 points. Fellow WIAC schools UW-Eau Claire and UW-La Crosse are in second and third with 12 and 11 points respectively.

Rivers, the Division III record holder in both the indoor and outdoor long jump, won his second individual national title in two years in the outdoor event and his fourth long jump crown in four national championship meets with a best mark of 7.56 meters which he marked twice. He was joined by
Caleb Wright (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) in the top-eight, who entered the meet with a pair of All-America Second Team honors. Wright leapt 7.39 meters, securing third place.

Gavin Fritsch (Little Chute/Little Chute) earned Oshkosh's first All-America medal of the meet with a second-place finish of 51.97 meters in the discus throw on Thursday morning. He is now a three-time All-American in the event with a pair of first team placements and a second team honor.

Matthew Eiden (Stevens Point/SPASH), Rivers,
Daniel Wilson (Sun Prairie/Sun Prairie West), and
Tyran Bender (Bourbonnais, Ill./Bradley-Bourbonnais Community) took seventh in the preliminary round of the 4x400-meter relay in 3:12.75 and will compete in the final round of the event at 4:50 p.m. eastern time on Saturday (May 23), the penultimate event in the 2025 national championships.
