OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh men's track & field team won three events and broke two school records in the final day of the WIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday (May 3).

The Titans took third among the eight conference teams with 122 points. UW-La Crosse won with 250.5 points and UW-Eau Claire finished second with 149 points.

Finishing up the decathlon on Saturday,
Payton White (Berrien Springs, Mich./Berrien Springs) placed second with 6,518 total points and
Cavan Dobberstein (Manawa/Fox Valley Lutheran) accumulated 6,383 points for sixth.

The 4x100-meter relay squad of
Eddie Jones (Waukesha/Catholic Memorial),
Nolan Milas (Virgil, Ill./Burlington Central),
Danny Vinson (Berrien Springs, Mich./Berrien Springs), and
Davian Willems (De Pere/West De Pere) set the program, facility, and meet records after winning the event at 39.81 seconds. The nation-leading time is also the second-fastest in Division III history and the third WIAC title for Oshkosh in the last four seasons.

For the second straight day,
Aden Sears (Eureka, Ill./Eureka) reset the program 110-meter hurdles record with a final round time of 14.20 seconds for first place.
Brady Larson (Maroa, Ill./Maroa-Forsyth) finished fourth in 14.83 seconds and
Christian Thompson (Milwaukee/Ronald Reagan) took eighth in 15.11.

Davian Willems (De Pere/West De Pere) raced to second place in the 100-meter dash final in a time of 10.26 seconds before
Lucas Nicholson (Pewaukee/Pewaukee) finished the 800-meter dash final in seventh at 1:54.02.

Daniel Wilson (Sun Prairie/Sun Prairie West) and
Weston Lerdal (Neenah/Neenah) added team points for UW-Oshkosh in the 400-meter hurdles final with sixth- and eighth-place finishes of 53.42 and 55.10 seconds respectively.

The 200-meter dash, the final sprint of the championship, saw Milas run a 21.53-second finish for fourth place.

UW-Oshkosh grabbed a podium finish in the 4x400-meter relay with a fifth-place time of 3:15.86.

Tray Janssen (De Pere/West De Pere),
Ryan Potter (Oak Creek/Oak Creek), and Lerdal made up the squad.

Gavin Fritsch (Little Chute/Little Chute) finished the discus throw in second place with a throw of 52.92 meters. The All-WIAC Second Team honor is his second conference honor of the meet after winning the hammer throw on Friday (May 2).

In the high jump,
Caleb Cornelius (Racine/Racine Park) passed the bar at 2.09 meters on his third attempt at the height to win his second league title in the event (2022).

The Titans will compete in final qualifying meets at the University of St. Francis (Ill.), UW-La Crosse, and Augustana College (Ill.) over the next two weeks before competing in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio on May 22-25. UW-Oshkosh finished as the national runner-up at last season's meet with 48 points.
