Schwalbe Named To College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® Second Team

Clayton Schwalbe becomes the eighth Titan in football history to be named an Academic All-American

GREENWOOD, Ind.- UW-Oshkosh senior tight end Clayton Schwalbe (Waukesha/Waukesha North) was named to the Academic All-America® Second Team for NCAA Division III football by the College Sports Communicators Tuesday (Jan. 27).

Schwalbe, who boasts a 4.00 grade-point average as a physical education major, becomes the eighth Titan football player to garner Academic All-America® recognition and first since Turner Geisthardt was voted to the First Team in both 2017 and 2018.

Schwalbe, a member of the UW-Oshkosh Honor Society and National Honor Business Society, was previously named CSC All-District the past four years and is an eight-time UW-Oshkosh Dean's List selection for his efforts off the field.

On the field, Schwalbe's well-decorated career included 2025 All-America Second Team accolades from the American Football Coaches Association, a pair of D3football.com All-Region honors and three All-WIAC First Team laurels.

This season Schwalbe registered 18 receptions for 213 yards and three touchdowns to help Oshkosh finish with a 5-5 record that featured wins over eventual national champion UW-River Falls and 16th-ranked Linfield College (Ore.).

Schwalbe has volunteered with several area organizations, including the Oshkosh and Appleton school districts, Girl Scouts of the USA and the EAA AirVenture Yellow Ribbon Honor Flight.

A total of 51 players – 25 on the First Team and 26 on the Second Team – were selected to the Division III Academic All-America® Team for football. Wide receiver Robby Ballentine from DePauw University (Ind.) was named the Team Member of the Year.

Schwalbe was among three WIAC players voted to the team as UW-Whitewater defensive lineman Noah Moris and UW-River Falls placekicker Justin Scheberl joined Schwalbe on the Second Team.

The 2025 Academic All-America® Football Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
