Box Score 1 HAMMOND, Ind.- UW-Oshkosh women's flag football closed out its first season with a 32-7 victory over Wittenberg University (Ohio) during the Purdue University Northwest (Ind.) Triangular on Saturday (May 2). The Titans faced the Pride in their first game of the day, falling 43-20.

The Titans (2-9) scored the first 32 points of the nightcap against Wittenberg (6-12), holding the Tigers to a single fourth quarter touchdown. Oshkosh's point total was a season high.

Joely Schelfhout (Oshkosh/Oshkosh West) broke the 0-0 tie with a 39-yard pick-six in the second quarter and a successful point-after pass from
Marin Bell (Oshkosh/Oshkosh West) to
Sophia Lee (Cottage Grove/Monona Grove) made the score 7-0.

After the Tigers failed to escape their half of the field, the Titans marched downfield and capped off the drive with a 1-yard direct-snap rush to the end zone by
Anika Roush (Byron, Ill./Byron).

Oshkosh regained possession of the ball twice more before halftime, including a possession change on a Schelfhout interception, but settled for a 13-0 lead headed into the break.

Starting the second half will the ball, it took Oshkosh eight plays to score again, this time on a 26-yard pass from Bell to Schelfhout. Flushed out of the pocket, Bell threw a jump ball to Schelfhout for a signature touchdown in the end zone.

Schelfhout later took a direct snap to the end zone to create a 25-0 edge and Bell found
Aaliyah Lathrop (Port Washington/Port Washington) for the extra point.

Jamaya Mariner (Green Bay/Green Bay East) picked off the Tigers quarterback on the first play of the following drive. Lathrop finished the drive with a short scoring rush.

The Titans carried a 32-0 lead headed into the final quarter.

In a low-scoring fourth period, Wittenberg tallied the only points on a 16-yard pass to the back left corner of the end zone.

Oshkosh and Purdue Northwest (9-3) combined for 63 points; the most total points tallied in a game the Titans played in this season. Oshkosh's 20 points were also their most scored in a game until their 32-point performance against the Tigers later on Saturday.

The Pride scored touchdowns on back-to-back possessions in the first quarter before Oshkosh got on the board with a pair of passes from Bell to Schelfhout. The pair connected for a 56-yard play in the first play of Oshkosh's drive and connected once more for 10 yards to bring the score to 13-6.

Purdue Northwest outscored the Titans, 13-0, in the second quarter and led, 25-6, at halftime.

The Titans responded to a Pride touchdown in the first drive of the third quarter with a 19-yard touchdown reception by Mariner and a successful two-point conversion, making the score 31-14.

Bell cut the deficit to 31-20 by passing a 16-yard touchdown to Mariner after an interception gave the Titans the ball on the Pride's 25.

Purdue Northwest sealed the win with a pair of interceptions returned for touchdowns.

The Titans, who opened their season at home against Aurora University (Ill.) on February 25, scored their first-ever touchdown on a 1-yard
Kyana Williams (Oshkosh/Oshkosh West) receiving touchdown against Rockford University (Ill.) under the UW-Oshkosh Rec Plex Dome on April 2.

Oshkosh later won its first-ever game against Rockford on April 9, defeating the Regents by a score of 19-15 in Fond du Lac.

After being held scoreless in each of their first three games, the Titans scored in all eight of their final contests, including a pair of double-digit outings on April 9 during the Marian University Triangular, a 14-point showing at Aurora on April 24 and Saturday's 20- and 32-point games.
