ROCK ISLAND, Ill.- UW-Oshkosh women's golf team continued its season with a trip to the Gustavus Adolphus College Division III Classic at the Emerald Greens Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 12-13). The Titans placed 13th with a combined score of 657 strokes (81-over par).
College of Saint Benedict (Minn.) won the team title with 611 strokes (35-over par) and Concordia College's (Minn.) Zoe Keene recorded a 142 (2-under par) to claim the individual title.
The Titans were led by
Addy Horne (Sheboygan Falls/Kohler) and
Ava Fahrenholz (West Bend/Slinger). Horne shot a 161 strokes (17-over par). She was 11 par on the first day (83) and only six over on the second, shooting a 78, and placed in a tie for 34th.
Ava Fahrenholz (West Bend/Slinger) was 18 over par over the two days (162 strokes), which was good for a tie for 39th place. She shot only five over on the first day (77) and 13 over on the second day (85).
Rylie Severson (Green Bay/Ashwaubenon) was third for the Titans, placing in a tie for 62nd. She shot a total of 22-over par (166 strokes), with 10 over on the first day (82) and 12 over on the second day (84).
The final Titans who competed were
Sophia Eggert (Shawano/Shawano Community) and
Chloe Young (Waukesha/Bay Port). They finished in a tie for 83rd, shooting 28-over par across both days (172 strokes). Eggert shot 18 over on the first day (90) followed by 10 over on the second day (82). Young shot 14-over par on both days, scoring 86 strokes each round.
The Titans return on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 19-20) another two-day competition. The Titans will compete at the Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Classic, which takes place at Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Ill.
