OSHKOSH, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh Head Men's Wrestling Coach
Aaron Konitzer has announced the addition of Adam Johnsen as the program's full-time assistant coach.
"It was clear that Adam has a passion not just for wrestling, but for developing student athletes as people", Konitzer stated. "He has hit the ground running and his willingness to learn about the behinds the scenes part of a program like recruiting has helped tremendously already. I'm excited to continue to work with Adam and keep growing this Titan Family!"
Most recently, Johnsen served as the assistant coach at Gladstone High School in Gladstone, Michigan. While with the Braves, he coached two wrestlers to individual state championship placement finishes.
From 2018-24, Johnsen was the assistant varsity and head junior varsity coach at Palo Verde High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. Across seven seasons with the Panthers, he helped lead the program to a 4A State Championship runner-up finish and two 4A regional championships. Individually, he developed 22 state championship place finishers, including nine state champions, and saw over 10 former athletes advance to collegiate wrestling at various levels.
The Escanaba, Michigan native owns more than 15 years of wrestling experience across competing and coaching and is bronze certified by USA Wrestling. He is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in science education at Western Governors University (Utah).
