GREENWOOD, Ind.- UW-Oshkosh women's basketball earned four mentions on the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team on Tuesday (March 24).
Kate Huml (Janesville/Janesville Craig) and
Avery Poole (Cottage Grove/Monona Grove) earned the honor for the second time in their careers while
Sammi Beyer (Appleton/Appleton East) and
Paige Seckar (Oshkosh/Oshkosh West) were named academic all-district for the first time. Beyer and Seckar were selected for academic All-America voting.
Beyer is a physical education major with a 3.85 cumulative grade-point average. Oshkosh's starting point guard, she was named to the All-WIAC First Team while averaging 12.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, and a team high 3.1 assists per game. She finished the season with a 2.18 assist-to-turnover ratio, the 13th best in NCAA Division III this season.
Beyer shot 152-for-376 (40.4 percent) from the floor, 55-for-161 (34.2 percent) from beyond the 3-point arc and 30-for-36 (83.3 percent) at the foul line in 32 starts. Beyer's 55 made 3-pointers lead the squad and rank second in the WIAC.
She scored at least 10 points during each of Oshkosh's last 12 games and notched double-digit point totals 22 times overall this season. She had a season-high 23 points against both UW-Stout on January 24 and UW-Stevens Point on February 21. Beyer also had 22-point efforts against UW-Stout on February 14 and UChicago during the sectional final March 14. The February 16-22 WIAC Kwik Trip Player of the Week committed zero or one turnover during 20 contests this season.
A kinesiology major with a 3.66 cumulative GPA, Huml earned academic all-district laurels for the second year in a row. She played in all 32 games and started in three, averaging 5.4 points and 1.6 rebounds while recording 29 assists.
Huml scored a season high 16 points twice – against UW-Whitewater at home on January 16 and Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) in the third round of the national tournament on March 13 – while scoring in double figures an additional three times. She made a season best five shots from the floor against WashU and seven attempts from the line against Whitewater and pulled down five rebounds at Eureka College (Ill.) on November 14 and against UW-Stevens Point in Kolf Sports Center on January 10.
Poole, Oshkosh's second repeat selection to the academic all-district team, is a nursing major with a 3.97 cumulative GPA. She earned All-WIAC Honorable Mention status for the second straight season while being named to the all-defensive team for the first time in her career. The 32-game starter averaged 6.3 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. Her 37 made 3-pointers rank second on the squad.
Averaging a team-high 30.7 minutes per game, Poole's season highs included 13 points against UW-Whitewater, five rebounds at UW-Platteville on January 14, and five assists against both University of Chicago (Ill.) on November 8 and UW-River Falls on February 25. She reached double-digit scoring in an additional six games.
Seckar, already the owner of a bevy of postseason awards, owns a 3.81 cumulative GPA as a physical education major. The WIAC and D3hoops.com Region 9 Player of the Year also collected All-America honors from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (First Team) and D3hoops.com (Second Team). The December 22-January 4 WIAC Kwik Trip Player of the Week paced the Titans with 13.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.3 blocks per game this season.
Seckar, who started all 32 games this season and averaged 2.1 assists per contest, also led the WIAC in free throw attempts (143), blocks (43) and double-doubles (8) while shooting 48.7 percent (150-308) from the field, 37.5 percent (12-32) from 3-point range and 77.6 percent (111-143) at the free throw line.
Seckar scored in double figures 24 times this season and poured in 20 or more points on four occasions. She tallied a season-best 24 points at UW-Eau Claire on February 11. Seckar's season-high performances also include 12 rebounds in three games, five assists during two contests, four blocks and four steals. She also recorded eight double-doubles.
UW-Oshkosh (28-4) reached the NCAA Division III Championship semifinal round for the second year in a row and the fourth time in program history by winning regional and sectional tournaments in Kolf Sports Center on March 6-7 and March 13-14, respectively after qualifying as an at-large bid for the national tournament as the WIAC regular season champion.
While the Titans fell to eventual national champion Denison University (Ohio) on March 19, they committed an NCAA-low 9.6 turnovers per game regardless of division, allowed opponents to score the second-fewest points in Division III (47.0) and owned the 10th-best assist-to-turnover ratio in the division (1.20).
Oshkosh's 28 wins are the second-most in program history, tied with the 1995 national runner-up squad.
The 2026 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
