CUBA CITY, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh women's basketball head coach
Brad Fischer collected Public College Division III Coach of the Year honors from the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association for the second year in a row on April 23.
Â
Fischer, who completed his 13th season at the helm of the program and owns a program-best record of 315-80, has earned the honor three times before. The WBCA named him their public college Division III coach of the year after his first year in 2012-13 and after the 2020-21 and 2024-25 campaigns.
Â
In 2025-26, Fischer guided the Titans to a 28-4 overall record, the WIAC regular season championship with a league mark 12-2, and the semifinal round of the NCAA Division III Championship for the season year in a row. The 20-win season is the 13th under Fischer, who has led Oshkosh to 20-win campaigns in every full season since 2012-13. This season, he became the only basketball coach in WIAC history, regardless of gender, to coach their team to 13 straight 20-win seasons, passing former UW-Platteville men's basketball coach Bo Ryan's 12 consecutive 20-win seasons from 1988-99.
Â
The regular season conference title was the sixth under Fischer and the third in a row. UW-Oshkosh qualified for the Division III Championship as an at-large bid and was selected to host a regional for the third straight year. The Titans defeated Webster University (Mo.) and Wisconsin Lutheran College in the first weekend to earn the opportunity to host the sectional rounds for the second time ever and the first time since 1994. Oshkosh beat Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) and University of Chicago (Ill.) during the sectional tournament, reaching the Final Four for the second year in a row and the fourth time in program history.
Â
Fischer was named the WIAC Coach of the Year for the sixth time in his career. He mentored
Sammi Beyer (Appleton/Appleton East),
Sarah Hardwick (Green Bay/Notre Dame Academy) and
Paige Seckar (Oshkosh/Oshkosh West) to All-WIAC First Team honors and Seckar to the WIAC Player of the Year award. D3hoops.com named Seckar a Second Team All-American and the Region 9 Player of the Year while Beyer collected All-Region Second Team honors. The Women's Basketball Coaches Association tabbed Seckar as a First Team All-American and Beyer as an honorable mention.
Â
The Titans committed only 9.6 turnovers per game this season, the lowest mark in the nation regardless of division, and had a defense that allowed 47.0 points per game, the second-lowest mark regardless of division. They held additional top 10 Division III marks of 12.2 fouls per game (eighth) and an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.20 (10th). Oshkosh posted WIAC-leading stats in blocks per game (4.0), field goal percentage allowed (34.7), free throw percentage (73.0), total points (2,025), scoring margin (+16.3), three-point percentage (32.0), turnover margin (+5.47) and winning percentage (87.5).
