ROCK ISLAND, Ill.- The UW-Oshkosh men's cross country team competed in the highly competitive Augustana College (Ill.) Interregional Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 18), finishing 16th in a field of 36 teams with 446 points. The Titans edged out a top-25 team in the process.

UW-La Crosse won the meet with 56 points while Issac van Westrienen of Cornell College (Iowa) won the meet in 23:57.

Cameron Cullen (Kewaunee/Kewaunee) led the Titans, running a personal record of 24:31 for a seventh-place finish. The time was a 23-second personal record for Cullen.

Trent Chadwick (Poynette/Poynette) was the second runner for the Titans. He finished in 76th place with a time of 25:42 while
Paul Proteau (Riverside, Ill./Riverside Brookfield) was third, finishing in 83rd with a time of 25:46. The final pair of point scorers for the Titans were
Alex Bernhardt (Appleton/Appleton North) and
Alex Peterson (Oconto Falls/Gillett) who both finished in a time of 26:22. Bernhardt placed 163rd, picking up a new personal record, and Peterson finished in 164th.

Lucas Nicholson (Pewaukee/Pewaukee) was next for the Titans, completing the course in 26:29 which was good for 181st place.
Jason Skinkis (Seymour/Seymour) was seventh for the Titans, running 26:30 and placing 184th.
Bennett Midthun (Fond du Lac/Winnebago Lutheran Academy) completed the course in 26:35, placing 192nd.
Aaron Nehls (Fredonia/Ozaukee) ran 27:31, placing 282nd and
Alex Arndt (Milwaukee/Saint Thomas More) finished in 297th place, running a 27:51.

The Titans had four runners compete in the open race.
Zac Watson (Waukesha/Waukesha South) led UW-Oshkosh in that race with a 112th place finish, running a 27:42.
Owen Bostwick (Whitefish Bay/Whitefish Bay) ran a 27:46, good for 119th place.
Riley Szymik (Appleton/Appleton North) finished in 160th, finishing in 28:09. Joseph Hertel ran a 28:44, placing 214th.

The Titans host their second meet of the year on Friday, October 24, at the XC Ranch course in Oshkosh at 2:15 p.m.
