OSHKOSH, Wis.- On Friday (Oct. 24), the UW-Oshkosh men's cross country team competed in its second-to-last home meet of the year. The Titans placed third at the UW-Oshkosh Open with 62 points.
 
UW-Platteville won the meet with 21 points. Milwaukee School of Engineering alumnus Xander Gottner won the meet with a time of 24:46.
 
Joseph Hertel led the Titans, running 26:19 for 14th place. 
Alex Arndt (Milwaukee/Saint Thomas More) was second for the Titans, placing 21st in a time of 26:28. 
Owen Bostwick (Whitefish Bay/Whitefish Bay) was third for the Titans, running 26:39 for 25th place. 
Aaron Nehls (Fredonia/Ozaukee) was the fourth scorer, running 26:50 for 28th place. 
Zac Watson (Waukesha/Waukesha South) was the final point scorer for the Titans, running 27:00 for 32nd.
 
Brady Lewis (Cedarburg/Cedarburg) was the first Titan to break his personal record, running a 27:10 for 36th place. 
Jerry Sowers (Oshkosh/Oshkosh West) got a personal record of 27:12 for 37th place and right behind the two were 
Evan Peterson (Oconto Falls/Gillett) and 
Noah Callahan (Barlett, Ill./South Elgin), who finished in 38th and 39th. Peterson ran the course in 27:18 and Callahan ran it in 27:23. 
Riley Szymik (Appleton/Appleton North) and 
Zachary Dietsch (West St. Paul, Minn./Two Rivers) both recorded times of 27:26, finishing in 41st and 42
nd, respectively. Dietsch's time was also a career best.
 
Owen Koele (Reeseville/Waterloo), 
Celso Collins (Oshkosh/Oshkosh West), Ashtyn Anderson, and 
Reid Cross (Winchester/Winneconne) all set personal records as well. Koele finished in 46th with a time of 27:36. Collins ran 27:46 for 48th place. Anderson finished in 52nd, running 28:00. Cross ran 28:02 for 54th place.
 
Nate Gindt (Fond du Lac/Horace Mann) ran a season record of 28:05 for 56th place.
 
Ben O'Brien (Cecil/Bonduel) finished in 68th place, completing the course in 29:04. 
Kaleb Plate (Chilton/Chilton) and 
Zach Osmanski (Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs) finished in 75th and 76th respectively, with Plate running a 30:16 and Osmanski running a 30:28. 
Jett Breed (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) earned a time of 30:56, good for 78th place.
 
The Titans return for the WIAC Championship on Saturday, November 1. They host the meet at the XC Ranch.
