A quiet leader on the court, Amy (Ward) Boos led the UW-Oshkosh women's volleyball team to unprecedented heights during the mid-1990s.
Boos, a graduate of Palatine High School in Palatine, Ill., competed for UW-Oshkosh from 1993-96 and spirited the Titans to four NCAA Division III postseason appearances, two WIAC titles and a sparkling 153-31 record.
Boos began her UW-Oshkosh career as a right-side hitter, a position that wasn't her forte. She compiled 164 kills, 186 assists, 177 digs, 53 service aces and 46 blocks in helping the Titans to a 33-10 record and a second-place finish in the WIAC. The Titans started the 1994 season with a 16-9 record and then won 23 of their next 25 matches to end the campaign with a 39-11 record, a WIAC Championship and a second-place finish in the country.
UW-Oshkosh defeated UW-Stout, UW-Eau Claire, St. Olaf College (Minn.) and Juniata College (Pa.) before dropping a 3-0 decision to Washington University (Mo.).
Boos earned NCAA Division III All-America Second Team and NCAA Division III All-Midwest Regional and All-WIAC First Team honors that season after compiling 1,878 assists, 311 digs, 129 digs, 101 service aces and 90 blocks.

Boos obtained her individual accolades that season with statistical totals of 1.673 assists, 397 digs, 120 kills, 144 blocks and 56 service aces.
Boos capped her UW-Oshkosh career by being named the 1996 NCAA Division III Player of the Year. She was the first UW-Oshkosh women's volleyball player to ever receive the award.
UW-Oshkosh won its first 27 matches of the 1996 season and ended the campaign with a 41-5 record. The Titans erased a third-place finish in the WIAC by advancing to the semifinal round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Hosting the national semifinals in front of nearly 1,000 fans in Kolf Sports Center, UW-Oshkosh lost a 3-2 decision to Juniata. The Titans finished fourth in the country after dropping a 3-1 result to St. Olaf.
Boos ended the 1996 season with 1,733 assists, 340 digs, 138 kills, 94 blocks and 40 service aces. She also received NCAA All-Midwest Regional and All-WIAC First Team honors that year.
