Hall of Fame
John Plenke was a three-time all-conference football player from 1926 to 1928 and played on the Titans’ 1928 championship team. He highlighted three years of basketball competition by serving as captain of the 1928 basketball championship team. Plenke also participated in tennis and served as “O” Club President.
Plenke, who currently resides in Madison, taught and coached all sports in high schools at Black River Falls, Reedsburg and Wisconsin Rapids. In 1972 Plenke retired as director of the Bureau of Program Development of the Wisconsin Board of Vocational, Technical and Adult Education. Since retirement he has continued research in adult education with the University of Wisconsin.
