When looking at the all-time greatest softball players in UW-Oshkosh history, Jane (Morgan) Gennerman’s name glitters with excellence.
Â
The All-America pitcher posted impressive numbers each year she took the mound and is credited with leading the Titans to their only appearance at the NCAA Division III World Series.
Â
As a freshman in 1986, the Oxford native exercised patience as she watched and learned from lead pitcher Kari Miller. During this year, Morgan pitched 38.2 innings and posted a 1.26 earned run average. Gennerman's first taste of glory also took place her rookie year when the Titans won the 1986 WWIAC Eastern Division title.
Â
In 1987, Gennerman posted a school single season record by recording a 0.91 earned run average under the leadership of first-year head coach Sharon Panske. Gennerman helped UW-Oshkosh to a 31-9 record and another WWIAC Eastern Division crown that season.
Â
By her junior year, Gennerman was comfortable with the routine of collegiate pitching and became the Titans’ ace. The astonishing numbers posted by Gennerman in 1988 earned national acclaim for herself and the Titans. Gennerman, who pitched 65 percent of the Titans’ games in 1988, surrendered only one home run, threw 64 strikeouts and posted a 1.35 earned run average to win 15 of the 24 games that she pitched in.
Â
With Gennerman as their leader, the Titans won their third consecutive WWIAC Eastern Division title in 1988 and made their first and to this day only UW-Oshkosh appearance at the NCAA Division III World Series. Individually, Gennerman's phenomenal pitching performances in 1988 led her spots to the All-WWIAC Eastern Division First Team, NCAA Division III All-Midwest Region First Team and the NCAA Division III All-America Second Team.
Â
As a senior in 1989, Gennerman led UW-Oshkosh to their fourth consecutive WWIAC Eastern Division crown. Pitching 77 percent of the games, Gennerman was credited with 13 of the Titans’ 17 wins. Again baffling her opponents, she threw 4 strikeouts and finished with a 1.75 earned run average. Gennerman captured NCAA Division III All-Midwest Region and All-WWIAC Eastern Division first team honors for a second consecutive season.
Â
Gennerman's collective throwing experience at UW-Oshkosh ranks her second in school history with 46 career victories and 492.1 career innings pitched.
Â
After the 1989 season, Gennerman was invited to represent the United States as a member of the 1990 Chicago Cougars’ all-star team in the Dynamic International Softball Tournament in Nice, France. At this tournament, Gennerman faced national teams from Belgium, Czechoslovakia, France, Italy and the Netherlands.
Â
Following her graduation from UW-Oshkosh in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, Gennerman wanted to stay involved with softball. Most recently, she coached the Menomonee Falls High School softball team from 2000 to 2005 and accumulated a 99-25 record. Under Gennerman's watchful eye, Menomonee Falls High School captured four conference championships, two WIAA regional championships, one WIAA sectional championship and a spot in the 2003 WIAA State Tournament.
Â
Her passion for children has also led Gennerman to become a fourth grade teacher at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School in the Menomonee Falls School District. While coaching and teaching, Gennerman found time to earn her master’s degree from Concordia University.

Gennerman and her husband, Keith, live in Menomonee Falls, where Gennerman serves as principal at General Mitchell Elementary School in the Cudahy School District.
