For 1974 UW-Oshkosh graduate Brian Felda, sports and winning came hand-in-hand. As an integral part of Fond du Lac High School baseball teams from 1967-69, Felda led the Cardinals to three consecutive trips to the WIAA Class A State Tournament. After earning all-conference honors his senior year, Felda led the Fond du Lac American Legion team to a Fox Valley League Title and was named Most Valuable Player in the Southern Division.

The winning ways continued for Felda as he played on UW-Oshkosh teams which won WSUC title teams in 1970 and 1971. In 1971, Felda became UW-Oshkosh's first All-American in baseball as he received first team recognition by the NAIA. That season, UW-Oshkosh posted a 24-16 record and placed third at the NAIA World Series in Phoenix, Ariz.

During his three years with the Titans, Felda compiled a .310 (87-210) batting average and intimidated opponents with over-powering throws from his outfield position. Felda's best season came in 1972 when, in the era of the wooden bat, he batted .427 (35-82), the 32nd highest average in the NAIA that year. That same year, Felda received second team All-America honors by the NAIA and UW-Oshkosh's Scholar Athlete Award for his performance in the classroom.

Felda's collegiate career came to an end following his junior season when he signed a professional baseball contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers after being drafted in the fifth round. After his release from the Dodger's organization in 1974, Felda signed a free agent contract with the San Francisco Giants and played with the team's minor league team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Upon retiring from baseball after the 1975 season, Felda accepted his current position as a physical education instructor at New Berlin West High School. With his wife, Laura, Felda is presently renovating a 110 year-old farmhouse in New Berlin which they purchased two years ago.
